Growing up in East TN my dad and I fished for bass and duck hunted every chance we got but soon found ourselves pursuing fly fishing early on...
…but soon found ourselves pursuing fly fishing early on. After learning to fish the wild trout streams of the Smokies at the age of 10 I was consumed by the sport and couldn’t get enough. Spending all of my time and money driving to the mountains I soon realized that I needed to find a job that would keep me closer to the water. In 2007 I started guiding in the Smokies for a local lodge, keeping me as close to the water as I could possibly get. When 2009 came around I wanted to expand my surroundings and start my own guide service. Buying my first drift boat, I put a new spin on an old habit and started guiding fly fishermen for smallmouth bass. Along with guiding anglers for the wild trout of the Smokies, I also enjoy chasing the larger trout on the tail waters and freestone streams.

Doug has been pursuing his passion of guiding people on East Tennessee’s freestone and tailwater streams for over 12 years...
He is a self-taught fly angler that started fly-fishing as a youngster in the cold creeks and rivers of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. His “trial and error” schooling has served him well being able to relate to young and new anglers alike. Even though he has fly fished all over the lower 48, Doug is especially close to the Clinch River watershed and has literally been fishing it his entire life. In his free time, Doug is an avid outdoorsman enjoying hiking, backpacking and spending time with his wife and son on the river.
Scott grew up in Pennsylvania hunting and fishing where he spent every free moment away from school in the woods...
He started fly fishing at 9 through the help of his parents that had him involved with family ties and nonprofits which helped kids and families get connected through fly fishing. After graduating from college with an electrical engineering
degree, he spent 10 years in the military always carrying a fly Rod and
tying kit on each deployment and place he visited. When his wife and he
settled in East Tennessee they knew this was the best destination for
fly fishing, something they both enjoyed hoping that their 2 year old
son will as well. He enjoys teaching new people how to fly fish and
leaning about the sport He loves.
